The Tohunga Tūmau 2021 brought together an evening of celebration, rich depth of flavour and manaakitanga, fine dining and a selection of the best modern Māori cuisine and culture in Tāmaki Makaurau. An all-Māori cast including nine master chefs, entertainers, wineries, breweries and producers brought both their stories and a stunning five course menu to the table for over 550, invited guests.
Shed 10 on Auckland’s Queens Wharf, was filled with a true spirit of manaakitanga and a mouthwatering hākari including ingredients and dishes with muttonbird, horopito rubbed brisket with kawa kawa, linguine with kina mousse, kumara brulee, hangi rhubarb, pāua and blue cod all sourced locally or from producers in Aotearoa. Delicacies combined with creativity that produced a sumptuous sensation.
