With over 200 guests, 20 exhibitors and a superb line-up of Māori talent the Tāmaki Makaurau Taki Hua Māori Business Showcase was an evening of knowledge sharing, connection and celebration alongside the movers and shakers of the Māori business community, iwi and investors.
The Taki Hua Māori Business Showcase was an exhibition styled event including businesses, iwi and key agencies. The programme put Māori business communities on-show and was a chance to experience the innovation, creativity and vibrancy these businesses add to sectors like tech, tourism, kai, business services and social enterprise.
Originally planned to be held in the back-drop of the 36th America’s Cup with a focus on business leverage into global opportunities this initiative had to be re-set. In a COVID-19 impacted world the decision to continue with this initiative and deliver a kanohi ki te kanohi event was received and supported generously. The opportunities differed from its original plan however they were still felt.
Auckland Unlimited conducts research on each of its events to understand attendee perceptions, and to assist with planning and the organisation of future events. Research for this event was conducted via and online survey and many common themes and benefits were highlighted.
Among them were the opportunity to network with new connections, sharing information and learning about the Māori business ecosystem in Tāmaki Makaurau, gaining exposure to export services and investment portfolios, being in an environment to leverage wider audiences, the ability to connect with other business visions and goals.
